Submissions

You are cordially invited to submit hard copy submissions to the A/V editorial board as a word attachment. Most of the journal’s material is audio–visual in nature but academic papers will initially be assessed in hard copy and filmed if accepted.

Academic papers: hard copy evaluation: material is to be submitted in hard copy in the first instance. Length will vary, but the written equivalent of a running time of approximately one hour on–screen time is the norm. If the piece is accepted for publication, the A/V creative/technical team will then contact the writer with a view to filming their paper or invite self–made video submissions for our further consideration. If a self–made video is submitted, it must conform to good quality technical specifications re sound, camera work, lighting etc.

Creative practice–based projects, including art–work, video, music, fiction etc. Relevant editors will offer an evaluation and recommendations on the material and accompanying rationale. The A/V team will contact the practitioner to discuss formatting requirements if accepted.
Reviews/interviews: Publishers should submit books etc for review. If books are accepted for review, we will contact the writer to arrange the practicalities of filmed inter/reviews.
